Planning your autumn wardrobe? Be inspired by the glitterati and take your cues from the Emmy Awards red carpet
Celebrating the stars of the small screen, the Emmy Awards aren’t quite as high glam as the Oscars, but they provide the perfect source material if you’re looking for colour, trend and hair and beauty direction for the season.
This year’s awards, which took place in Los Angeles on September 17, were no exception in the style stakes.
We loved Letitia Wright’s beautiful, nude dress with its gentle tiers, subtle sparkle and rose gold sheen. Enhancing the ethereal effect, she chose a rose gold clutch, hair piled high with crystal embellishments and barely-there make-up.
Rachel Brosnahan stunned in a red, drop-shouldered Oscar de la Renta gown. The colour, and the Grecian-inspired silhouette, flattered Rachel’s alabaster complexion; the pop of red on her pout oozed classic Hollywood glamour. If you have a fair complexion, Rachel’s style is something to steal.
And Riverdale star Madelaine Petsch wins our red carpet award for best dress: her dreamy Prada gown featured a sheer overskirt barely concealing an embellished underskirt. The colour blocking on the body of this fantasy gown is another trend to try this season. With her long red hair in loose, Hollywood waves, she looks every inch the real-life Disney princess.
