In Flight Essentials

In Flight Essentials

As summer is fast approaching and you may be jetting away we want to share out must have in-flight essentials which are a necessity for any flight, anywhere!

Obviously, we are restricted to any liquids being under 100ml here in the UK and our hand luggage being under 5KG so we want to keep things light and only take what we really need, the rest can go in your suitcase!

Entertainment. A must-have for a flight especially a long haul one as staring at the head rest of the person in front of you isn’t that interesting and for those of you who can’t sleep, these are needed;

  • Take a book
  • Ear/ head phones as you can listen to music
  • Even a laptop/ tablet so you can do some work, it will kill the time!

Flying can cause may problems to our skin such as dehydration- skin dries out and can end up looking flaky. Dehydrated skin can also result in excess oil as your skin is working extra hard to produce oil and hydrate it therefore, you will want to keep your skin clean and hydrated to minimise spots/ dry patches and flakiness. Flying can also stress us out and our skin resulting in increased redness and any inflammatory conditions of the skin, like eczema or psoriasis can become inflamed. If you do have sensitive skin which gets stressed out – stick to your normal routine and don’t don’t over complicate it. If you need some extra soothing try the Ren Skincare Evercalm Rescue Mask as it is designed specifically to combat over sensitivity, to calm, soothe and moisturise and instantly alleviating the key signs of sensitive skin. For those who just suffer with dry and dehydrated skin normally and/ or on a plane then this is also a great time to give yourself and your skin a little pamper.

Oils and hydrating masques are going to be your best friend as they will lock in moisture and inject moisture into your skin. The Decleor Aromessence Neroli Amara Hydrating Oil Serum, this 100 percent natural face oil serum gives skin a hit of hydration and boost of radiance, whilst soothing the senses. We also love the Dermalogica Skin Hydrating Masque, leave this on for the whole flight rather than rinsing off and this masque will give your skin indepth moisture and will soothe, protect, calm and restore skin. It also applies clear and stays clear, so no one will even know you have it on!  Don’t forget to drink water as well (lots) as this is going to make the biggest difference.

A great way to keep you feeling cleansed on a plane without taking your whole skin care cabinet is using a cleansing oil or micellar water. The Dermalogica PreCleanse is a lightweight cleansing oil, that gently liquefies sebum and oil-based debris from the skin’s surface and can be rinsed away without leaving behind any greasy residue but leaves the skin hydrated.

The Jessica Phenomen Oil is an inflight essential for us here at beauty flash as it comes in a tiny little bottle so it takes us no room but the product itself packs a punch and offers great hydration. It technically is a cuticle oil however, it is excellent on elbows, feet, knees and any other rough, dry areas that need deep moisturisation. Then rub the reside over your hands as a hand cream. All over hydration in 7.4ml!

As we know the plane can be uber cold therefore, socks and a warm jumper will be needed along with other basics such as hand sanitiser, hair bands and your phone. If you are travelling with someone then also try taking a deck of cards it’s amazing how many games you can play, they are small to pack and provide hours of fun!
